Self Feeding

Today was a fun day lunch day.  Caelyn loves to feed herself and is constantly grabbing the spoon as I am trying to put in her mouth and feeding herself.  Today I decided to let her feed herself completely.  I got a bowl with suction cup and let her go at it.  She did pretty well with the spoon, but decided it was easier to eat with her hands.  She also got the bowl off the tray and tried to eat that way.  Here is some of our adventure.

Starting out strong using the spoon.

Taking a spoon break to squish it in her hands.

Trying the spoon again.

Spoon in one hand, food in the either.

Pulling the bowl off the tray.

Mmm...Sweet Potato!

All done Mommy!

Can I Have Some of Those?

Caelyn loves Gerber Cheese Puffs.  We have to hide them in the kitchen because if she sees them while she is eating she won't eat the rest of her meal.  Yesterday she found them in her diaper bag and tried to break into them.  Phil caught it on camera.

Peek-A-Boo

Caelyn loves Peek-A-Boo.  One of her favorite places to play is behind the sheer curtain in the kitchen.  She thinks its hilarious.

Teeth

We have been working for the last week to get pictures of her top teeth.  We haven't had much luck, but got a great shot of her bottom teeth and what appears to be the next round.

Moving On Up

Caelyn is on the move.

Hide & Seek

I moved our furniture around so Caelyn couldn't get stuck in between the end table and the couch.  However, some how she wiggled through.

Piano Playing

Caelyn loves music.  Sometimes she gets too busy playing with her other toys to play her piano, but then she got creative.

She's Got Something to Say

We just don't know what it is.  But she's letting that Lobster know who's boss.

Self Feeding

Caelyn loves to eat.  She eats anything that we put in front of her.  Her favorite foods right now are applesauce, bananas, and rice cakes.  She likes to help us guide the spoon into her mouth and sometimes she just likes to do it herself.  It is a little messy, but very funny.

Admiration

Not for me or her dad, but her hands. Go figure.

Baby Dedication

Our church believes in the dedication of children. It is not salvation or baptism, but the celebration of the arrival of the child, the commitment of the parents to raise the child to according to biblical principles and through God's strength, guidance, and wisdom, and the church's promise to support and pray for the family. Our church is unique as it is not just babies being dedicated, but a host of adopted children from around the globe. It was very exciting to see and be a part of. Caelyn was on her best behavior and was curious about all the people around her. Here are some pictures.

New Best Friend

When the Gifford's were here Daniel and Tabitha stayed in Caelyn's room.  I moved a mirror in there for Tabitha.  When Caelyn returned to her room she became fast friends with the baby in the mirror and since then she has been popping up all over our house.  The mirror currently is in the living room laying on its long side, which Caelyn loves to sit and play in front of.

First Crocheting Project

For Christmas Phil got me all I would need to start crocheting.  This is my first completed project that I allowed out of the house.

New Years

For New Years the whole Gifford Clan stuffed into our little house.  Which was so much fun.  It was nice to be all together for the holiday.  Caelyn did not know what to think of that many people in our house, but sure did enjoy all the attention.  She didn't mind being held by her Aunts Tabitha and Sarah and her Uncles Daniel and Matthew.  She especially liked hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Gifford.  We had a great time ringing in the New Year together and exchanging Christmas presents, even if it was a little late.

New Camera

We have been looking for a new camera for quite sometime and have never been able to find a good deal.  Well right after Christmas we came across a great deal on Ebay and using our "Christmas Money" invested in a Canon Digital Rebel XTi.  Which takes much better pictures than our old one.  Here are some of our first pictures.

Caelyn's First Christmas

Caelyn was diagnosed with her first ear infection the day after Christmas.  Needless to say it was not the happiest first Christmas.  However, she did put a smile on her face for the camera and enjoyed ripping at the paper.  After we opened up presents at our house and took a nap we went to Grandma and Grandpa Brady's for lunch and more present opening.  Here are some pictures from our day.

A little fuzzy, but Caelyn knew she was supposed to be smiling for the camera.

Caelyn loved playing with her new presents and couldn't wait to get them out of the package.

She still loves her slightly used pony.

Uncle David helped her open her presents at Grammy and Grandpa's house.

When Caelyn thought no one was looking she tried to break into Grandpa's M&Ms.
